Chalmers Show - Podcast with Steve Kuclo 2nd Episode.mp3

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:00:03] Hey, this is Dr. Matt Chalmers and you're listening to the Dr. Chalmers podcast. We'll be covering how the body actually works so we can fix the things no one else can.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:00:14] But so tell me about because like the upgraded human thing I've been really interested in, because I really like the idea of because I'm a holistic guy. Like,  when I did my do, my life was on Facebook started screwing me.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:00:27] Now it's on my substack we'll talk about, you know, like we do a relationship day, we do chemistry day, we do an exercise day, you know, that type of stuff. So I love the idea of what we're actually going to start working on, all of us.

Steve Kuclo [00:00:38] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:00:38] Not just one aspect of something.

Steve Kuclo [00:00:40] Correct.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:00:40] So run me through kind of where the idea for this type of thing came from. Like how long you want to do this and have run me through? Like What is what's going on?

Steve Kuclo [00:00:47] It's been years of, I think, learning myself. Life's a whole learning process the whole time. If you're not learning in life like you're not doing something right and you're just declining whatever you're doing, like you have to continue to educate yourself.

Steve Kuclo [00:01:02] And so much of it is like in your mindset. So for me, it's I love being part of Mastermind and going to different group and talking to people and networking and relationships.

Steve Kuclo [00:01:11] And they're such value to me like to learn from people that are excelling in areas that I am not.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:01:16] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:01:17] Whether it's health and fitness, like I've always had a coach when it comes to prep in bodybuilding. And yeah, I could do stuff on my own, but I'd rather learn from somebody that has maybe knows more than I do or is going to take that thought process of how I do it, and stressing about it out of out of that equation and just,. Hey, give me a plan of something. I'm very I'm very much a believer in having a coach or having a mentor for four things in life.

Steve Kuclo [00:01:40] A lot of the mastermind I've been to were very business money driven, which is a is a big aspect of life. Like, I think to have money allows you to do the things you want to do. I don't think it's everything in life and I look at success or wealth in a little bit different way, a different approach. Like it's to me, success in wealth is having having your health the number one.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:02:00] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:02:00] Having great relationships with your wife and your kids and your friends. Like that's a big one. Having a great relationship with God. I very, very much believe having a foundation of faith has allowed me to flourish in life in ways that I couldn't do just on my own. So it's like encompassing a lot of the, if you like, the basic for us faith, family, fitness, finance in in helping people upgrade those all those areas of their life.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:02:24] Yeah,.

Steve Kuclo [00:02:25] I think the biggest one of the biggest pillars is health. And I think if your health wellness, your fitness is in line or it's it's excelling and it's doing really well, it's going to bleed over into other areas of your life.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:02:36] Yeah,.

Steve Kuclo [00:02:36] It's going to bleed over into the way you do business, the way you do relationship. You're you're going to have more energy to take, you know, with your kids going to better sex with your wife, you're going to have these like those are just going to be better.

Steve Kuclo [00:02:45] And that's just a and I think so many people don't understand or so much bad information out there on how to be just fit and that seeing you have to compete at a high level to be a pro bodybuilder, whatever.

Steve Kuclo [00:02:55] And it's really great to have a goal to get on stage one time or do something like that, but to get around it for me, I love being able to pour into people on all these different areas. Like, I may not be a true hormone expert, but that's why I have you at my side. Doc. I want you to come talk to my people.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:03:11] Yeah,.

Steve Kuclo [00:03:12] Educate them on some hormone health. And then we do that. And then I have some friends, like my friend Tony. That's amazing with finance and knows investments, and he has opportunities.

Steve Kuclo [00:03:20] Hey, I'm going to bring him in to speak to my to my tribe. And and really connecting people is something I love to do. So that's where my idea of creating a network and a group of people that really want to upgrade themselves and and it's like they help people become the best version of themselves when you're able to give your best to somebody and the people that you do life with, like your life is just better all around.

Steve Kuclo [00:03:41] You know, I always want to give my wife the best of the best version of me because she's going to get the best of her right. Like if she got a half assed version of me, you're out of shape or tired all the time, or, you know, just she. Why is that going to inspire her, motivate her to be any better? Like, I want to just always I want to be somebody that brings energy to people and that sucks energy from people.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:04:03] And that's what that's part of the whole relationship. You know, I had a lady here the other day and I was talking about some stuff and she start bringing up her husband. I was like, Well, if your husband has this not, we can talk about diet. And since she has, oh, he doesn't give a shit what it looks like. And when she said I was like, that's a problem for her. Right,.

Steve Kuclo [00:04:19] Right, right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:04:20] That's the thing. It's like, you know, if you're going to go into a relationship, you're like, okay, I expect a lot out of the person that I'm in the relationship with. You have to then assume you're going to give more than what that person's giving you, because if you don't, you're taking.

Steve Kuclo [00:04:32] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:04:33] And so you give to the relationship, give to the point where you are positive on the giving. Right? So that's one of those things. I go get in shape, have the energy to hang out with your wife, have the energy to hang out with your kids, show your kids what it is, you know,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:04:45] And it's you know, we used to say this, oh, years ago, you know, like money can be gone tomorrow and now we're up. We're not We're tired of an economy where money might be gone tomorrow.

Steve Kuclo [00:04:55] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:04:56] And, you know, and 4G, she's promising us another pandemic in 24.

Steve Kuclo [00:04:59] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:05:00] So, you know who died in the last bend of the people who are fat now really have their health ready to go when something hit them in the face.

Steve Kuclo [00:05:06] Correct.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:05:06] So, guys, that was your wakeup call. Yeah. I'm not going to feel very sorry for you if 24 rolls around and. We just have another bad cold year like, well, he was still £100 over fat. And, you know, the guy didn't know what a treadmill looked like. So I guess that's just what. No, he chose.

Steve Kuclo [00:05:25] He made it. He made a choice. And to me, that's that's leadership. And I like instead of like saying necessarily just coach, like, I like like leadership coaching and ultimately it's leading yourself.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:05:34] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:05:34] You have to be able to lead yourself freely at anybody else.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:05:37] Exactly.

Steve Kuclo [00:05:37] You know, and I think when it comes to a point of of speaking to somebody from a place of authority, like some you walk in a room, if there's two doctors, I'm going to use you.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:05:46] As an example.

Steve Kuclo [00:05:47] And there's a doctor that's £100 overweight. If you walk into that room, who are you going to trust more just on a point of talking and them giving you the same points you're going to, you're going to believe Dr. Matt and trust him more just because he you know, what he practices, what he preaches.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:06:01] Well, and that was one of those things because somebody asked me a while back, they're like, you know this why do you choose to do that? And I was like, it's an integrity thing for me. And this is this is a I'm not trying to call anybody out. This is a I decided this for me, regardless of what you.

Steve Kuclo [00:06:16] Just called everybody.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:06:17] I just called. Everybody. I know this is a meeting. But when I tell somebody I'm a doctor, what I want that to translate to them in their head is I have a mastery of the human body. And I didn't feel like I could, with integrity, tell somebody I had to master the human body if I was 50 pounds over fat. So if you look at me and go, I don't know, you look like, you know, what a donut looked like. Really? Well, like, I don't know if you understand, like, no.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:06:42] Okay, fine. So I chose the harder of the paths, and that's why I went down this road. Because now it's like, okay, here it is. It's always funny to be like, Well, yeah, but that was the steroids. And I'm like, I bench press 400 pounds and squatted 600 punds as a high school senior back when I still believe that testosterone was literally the devil and wouldn't even be around it.

Steve Kuclo [00:07:00] But I tell people all the time like the it's again been it's now it's a little more acceptable stuff online like yeah you hear. I'll make a post a video of me doing a crazy you know lift to the bench in four or 500 pound doing something, you know, if I took those, you know, steroids that you took, I'd be I could be as strong as you were, big as you. And I'm like, I'll actually pay and give you everything you think you need.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:07:23] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:07:24] And to see if you could do that in 99.9% of time, I guarantee you the answer is you can't like it. That's just one part of the equation when it comes to this. It's not everything. And everybody wants a magic pill or magic shot or they think that is the magic sauce when it's not.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:07:38] Well. So when we talked about peptides earlier and we said it's in a gray area, guys, it's not going to be very gray for very much longer.

Steve Kuclo [00:07:45] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:07:45] And the reason I say that so right now, like we're having a hell of a time shipping out testosterone to make this option guys, because our combating pharmacies and finally what I'm just flat told me and I respect him for it he was like, I make about $15 off of every one of your script. I make $40 or more of every single typescript. Now, here's the thing. So all these pharmacies are making semaglutide because everybody thinks it's a magic pill.

Steve Kuclo [00:08:08] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:08:08] I take the pill, I take the shot, and all of a sudden I'm not hungry. I lose all this way. Well, two thirds of what you're losing is not fat.

Steve Kuclo [00:08:14] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:08:14] They lose a lot of muscle, bone density, gut function, heart function. You're losing a bunch of tissue they don't want to lose.

Steve Kuclo [00:08:19] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:08:20] First of all. Second of all, the pharmaceutical companies already have one resentment.

Steve Kuclo [00:08:25] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:08:26] Something like that. Anyway, that's. They're tied to the pharmaceutical is made. Well, guess who's going to start calling the FDA and being like, you guys have to shut off all this peptide stuff because we want to sell it ourself.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:08:37] And every single one of the FDA and every single person. Right. And bills laws are going to go, Oh, pharmaceutical money. Yeah, we'll make that bill happen, you know, because it's not safe. And to be honest, it's kind of not the way it's the way to go.

Steve Kuclo [00:08:50] There's definitely not enough research long term for the fat loss stuff. Now, will they create will they create an environment or create fat loss or weight loss for you? Yes. But like to your point, if you're reducing the amount of muscle you have, the amount of lean mass, you're just slowing down your metabolism.

Steve Kuclo [00:09:09] Even worse, when you come off this I heard another doctor say literally, like you're just making yourself fatter, in essence, like you're a lighter, fatter version of you if you don't if like, your lean muscle is such a big component of your composition of your body, like if you're reducing that down,. You're the amount of calories you burn on a daily basis is going to decrease If your hormones are not going to be as efficient with being a higher fat level, lower muscle level, like be careful.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:09:38] Well, so the big things of that is that so you take this wonder drug for ten weeks and you lose all this way. Well, guess what? You lost, like you said, all your muscle, which is where all your mitochondria are. So that's where that's the largest source of your metabolism.

Steve Kuclo [00:09:51] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:09:51] So you quit taking this drug that makes you nauseous. When you think about food, it makes you not want to eat. And now all of a sudden, you go back to, Oh, I've lost £15. I can I can afford to have a margarita.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:10:01] That margarita on those chips just had a 20% higher fat gain effect on you because you've lost that muscle mass that was requiring calories to sustain Muscle requires calories. It's just. Sustained. Which is why you get as you grow muscle mass, you get to eat more food.

Steve Kuclo [00:10:17] Right

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:10:17] If you lose that muscle, if you go back to eating that same calories that you used to eat, that was, by the way, making you fat to begin with, which is why you do the drugs. You're going to get fatter, faster, because like you said, the muscles are gone. So and I see this becoming a cycle of well at work, trying to take it the first time.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:10:32] So they keep taking they keep screwing themselves up. So it's, you know, maybe for the first time the government coming out and saying we can't use something is going to be beneficial. I don't know what's.

Steve Kuclo [00:10:40] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:10:41] But that's that's the big thing. And so, you know, if if you if you're constantly looking for that fast way through things, you're always going to be putting your your body under extreme pressure. That's not where we want to be. So, you know, it is kind of funny to walk through here. You know, people come in like, well, I heard this and I heard that. I'm like, Well, those things are true.

Steve Kuclo [00:10:59] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:10:59] Did you hear the rest of it? There is more. Yeah. Very rarely do you hear all the negative stuff about magic stuff that's being sold,.

Steve Kuclo [00:11:06] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:11:06] So yeah, there's, there's all kinds of things that are, you know, here and there that are term to a part. But, you know, if we can just keep people to just start seeing it start to get a little bit healthier, not just in their physical form or the biochemistry, but like to your point, you know, if we can start bringing people some sanity back and I'm going to catch all four of us, but the religious function is really, really good at keeping us from going crazy.

Steve Kuclo [00:11:29] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:11:29] Like, like, hey, there's something bigger than you. Why don't you dedicate yourself to something that's more important than just your selfishness? Your pleasure.

Steve Kuclo [00:11:37] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:11:37] Let's see if we can figure out a way to make everybody around us in a healthy, happier, better place.

Steve Kuclo [00:11:42] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:11:42] And it's always worked out well. Now it has not always been taught properly, right?

Steve Kuclo [00:11:46] I mean, man,has screwed a lot of shit up in life and in this world and in history. And religion is one of them. The man, the greed aspect, the definitely has has found its way into things. But going back to the core of it, the core of it, if you know, understand, like you said, it does, it does create a better world and without it it would be chaos. We live in a fallen world.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:12:09] Absolutely.

Steve Kuclo [00:12:09] And too many people live by their flesh. And if you let your flesh drive, you think it's going to it's going to lead to destruction? It ultimately is, I think, because if you go based on what you feel like, I don't feel like going to the gym or I feel like eating like crap,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:12:22] Right.

Steve Kuclo [00:12:22] I feel like going, you know, to to to just be a do something stupid Like it's going to lead you down the wrong path. So not having control of your flesh. And and we always say, like I'm part of a men's group at church. We meet every Saturday morning and part of the beginning of it is is paying your price and leading your flesh, not letting your fleshly you.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:12:43] Correct.

Steve Kuclo [00:12:44] Meaning like first thing we do is we kind of get together, pray a little bit, and then we're doing push ups. And I got Garrett uncle back who leads I think you there and he's he's doing these, you know, military style push ups. I mean guys are but he's like, you're paying your price. It's just doing something to not let your your leading your flesh, which is the first, again, going into leadership. Part of things like it's leading yourself before you can lead others.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:13:08] And that's that's the thing I keep telling my kids. I'm like and so that my kids will ask me questions and they're like, Why do I have to learn this? This is me. And I'm like, You're hungry and right. It is worthless. You're never going to use this.

Steve Kuclo [00:13:18] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:13:18] And it sucks, but you're going to do it because I need you to learn to do things that are hard,.

Steve Kuclo [00:13:22] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:13:22] And he's like, I don't even understand. I'm like, every single thing that is beneficial in my life came at the end of hard work. My body. I wrote it for you to write. You were in a 22 to die fashion because it's the best thing for fat loss. Like, No, I do it because it's hard.

Steve Kuclo [00:13:35] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:13:36] 3:00 I get hungry and I have to tell myself you're not going to eat for 3 hours.

Steve Kuclo [00:13:40] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:13:40] And that's the thing. When you get used to doing hard things, hard things become easier for you to do.

Steve Kuclo [00:13:46] Exactly.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:13:47] So you want to do great things. If you want to be a great person, if you want to be a leader for your family, you really burn. Embrace the suck to death.

Steve Kuclo [00:13:54] Absolutely. I mean, you don't get big muscle by not embracing a lot of resistance.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:13:58] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:13:58] Like there's a natural supernatural correlation with resistance in life. Like if you just by loading the muscle, creating resistance, it's hard. That's how you get bigger muscles,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:14:08] Right.

Steve Kuclo [00:14:09] And it's same thing in life. The harder some things are, you know, the it's biblical when in the part of the Bible says, you know, the road to destruction or death is wide and easy. And I'm kind of paraphrasing, but the the road that's difficult and narrow leads to life.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:14:23] Yes.

Steve Kuclo [00:14:23] To the end. Yeah. The road. It's easy following your feelings, doing stuff that yeah I don't feel like working out or that one day leads to two days leads to four days, leads them to take it now and works out in a month.

Steve Kuclo [00:14:34] And I feel like crap and I'm tired and it just, it snowballs. So if you know what? Yeah. Doing some hardship taking, you know, sacrificing. Okay, I don't have time to work out. Okay. Maybe get up 30 minutes earlier, an hour earlier in your day. Make it here. You'll have a longer day to get a little workout and you'll start feeling better about yourself.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:14:51] Yeah, it's always about priorities. So. Yeah. And the thing is, is that it's like, you know, it is hard. But the biggest thing and people always ask me, they always want, you know, the right supplements or they want the right workout, the right thing.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:15:02] And I'm like, What do you do every single day? I'm not going to write you a plan that you take supplements once a week.

Steve Kuclo [00:15:07] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:15:07] You can take them three times a day. You're going to work out, you know, if you want to do five days a week and take the weekends off, I'm cool with that.

Steve Kuclo [00:15:13] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:15:13] If you want to do every two days on one day, that's fine. But you're going to do something consistently because it's not going the gym and lifting really heavy once is going to do no good to anybody,.

Steve Kuclo [00:15:22] No

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:15:23] It's What do you do all the time.

Steve Kuclo [00:15:25]  Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:15:25] , that's the thing. The consistency of of hard is what makes people great.

Steve Kuclo [00:15:30] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:15:31] And so that's the thing I like about you, because we want to make sure. That's why I love about stuff like you're doing is it's. It's guys. It's not just like you've mastered the lifting thing. Congrats.

Steve Kuclo [00:15:40] Exactly.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:15:40] Congrats. Where's your relationships? That everybody fucking hate you? Well, guess what? You need to change you.

Steve Kuclo [00:15:46] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:15:47] , like, if you really. I hate everybody. Well, this is your idea.

Steve Kuclo [00:15:50] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:15:50] Like we got to change you, and then you.

Steve Kuclo [00:15:51] You got to work on that. Yeah, we got to get that heart rate like we got to. You got to start getting peeling back the onion, getting through those layers of.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:15:58] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:15:58] Of this persona that you're trying to put on or, or some hurt, some trauma in your life that you, you got to work through.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:16:06] Like it's there's and that's typically what I see is it's like people are people are over even like even the big burly guys like sometimes the most times the big burly guys are were hurt very badly.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:16:18] And so they've put up all these barriers so that you never hurt me in that way again. And you got to come back at me like I'm on the the start pulling some of these things off.

Steve Kuclo [00:16:25] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:16:26] And it's so funny because like, the best mastermind I ever went to. And on that one I will say this I have made more money and I've made better friends and I have a much better circle because of masterminds like.

Steve Kuclo [00:16:39] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:16:40] Than at any other thing I've ever been associated.

Steve Kuclo [00:16:42] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:16:42] Because if, you know, if everyone's like, look, my bettering my life is worth 510 grand, whatever the number is, right. Whoever's in that room, it was also worth five, ten, 20 grand for those people to get in that room. So now all of a sudden you have people who are not only like minded, but they're willing to put money where they're like, This is important to me. I'm going throw cash.

Steve Kuclo [00:17:02] That it's paying a price to be in the room. And it's somebody that values learning and improving themself personal development, but also understands the value of alignment and getting in a room with people with the like minded, like mindsets that have that want to improve their life, that might end up leading to a friendship which might lead to a business deal, might lead to.So, I mean, come on. Stuff that we've done together just by, like you said, associating people that you've been in Mastermind with.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:17:29] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:17:30] I mean, it's amazing the the what what has come of the alignment because of masterminds and groups and getting in rooms with people has led me down has led me to the path that I mean now it truly is I think if I just went out chasing my tail about what I'm going to do next,. I'd just be like a cat chasing his tail in a corner. Like I would I would get nowhere. But where I've made the biggest jumps in my life has been through my alignments.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:17:54] Yeah, well, it's always funny because you were like, Well, you're lucky you got to meet all these people. Like, No, I paid.

Steve Kuclo [00:17:59] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:18:00] Money. I flew to places and I walked up and introduced myself and I met people.

Steve Kuclo [00:18:04] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:18:04] And I built relationships over years and that's where I am. I think if I think lucky, like somebody didn't walk a mile to sit down and be like, Hey, I'm going to hand you all this stuff.

Steve Kuclo [00:18:14] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:18:14] No, it was I met these guys. And after years of being around them and they were like, okay, you are a decent human being because you can I mean, you can snow anybody, any con artist.

Steve Kuclo [00:18:25] Oh, yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:18:26] You're good at what they do in snow. You the first time you meet them. But you guys know four or five guys, all the same women or whatever, five people the same day.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:18:34] But if they see you time and time again and they're like, Hey, Ted worked with that guy and he was class act or like, he was it.

Steve Kuclo [00:18:41] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:18:41] Now, everybody now. Yeah. So you got to go to these things. You got to be high quality, you got to be in tech. You have to, you have to be a good dude. When you go to these things, you stick with them. You have to go the same one,.

Steve Kuclo [00:18:51] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:18:51] But when you go to these things, people start seeing you and they're like, I know this guy. I know some guys who've worked with them. You've got some integrity. That's it's always the year or two, three years in where everybody is throwing deals at you,.

Steve Kuclo [00:19:01] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:19:01] Because as soon as you prove to a couple of the guys, it takes a little while and you prove to a couple of people that you're not a douchebag, but you're actually you have you bring value to the table,.

Steve Kuclo [00:19:10] Correct.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:19:10] They will bring the table to you. And so that's how it's happened at all of these things. And so that's the biggest piece for people who don't go to these things on a regular basis or like, I don't think it's worth it. This is why we have to invest in yourself.

Steve Kuclo [00:19:20] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:19:21] Put yourself in the room like we'll bring you to the room.

Steve Kuclo [00:19:23] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:19:24] You come in and then now it's up to you. Go meet people and be a good guy.

Steve Kuclo [00:19:27] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:19:28] I do the things you say you're going to do.

Steve Kuclo [00:19:30] Exactly.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:19:30] And you know, people will respect you for it. And you'll get business. You'll get friends.

Steve Kuclo [00:19:33] Absolutely. I think people the people have so much self-doubt or self. They have fear or like, you know, they a little bit their view of things, a little bit like a cynicism. And it's not and it's a lot like the way you were raised in or just what life has thrown you up to this point. Like, oh, none of that's work or that's all B.S. or I mean, just people's comments.

Steve Kuclo [00:19:55] And sometimes when I put up something like, Hey, how about you come here and check this event out of my mastermind? Oh, it's all a bunch of bunch of crap, bunch of scam artists, all this stuff. Like, no, it's not like I've, made had, like I said, more deals to develop more relationships, have met the best people in my life and surrounded myself with these people and they.

Steve Kuclo [00:20:12] Help me upgrade the way I think about things, in the way I view life and the way I look at my health now. And if I didn't get in a room with these people, I would just be stuck with what my own understanding is. But and I would be operating at just a moderate okay level.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:20:27] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:20:27] I think I want to be around people that make more money than me, that are healthier than me, that are have better relationships and whatever it is.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:20:32] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:20:33] I want to be around those people cause I want to learn from them and then I want to be able to bring value to them in some way. Like, like I say to you, if there's anything I could do to help you in any way, just offer yourself up. Be generous with your time, talent and treasure is going to pay back tenfold because when you ask for something, then hey, they're probably going to hook you.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:20:49] So sometimes it's always funny. I feel like now that I've kind of I work with, you know, like I've got a buddy of mine is Mike Barnes, who started Russell watches Signet Jewelers. And so I know, you know, lots and lots of CEOs and lots of these guys who were like, well, you know, that's always a good old boys club. I'm like, Do you know why it's a good old boys club is because, like, we're moving so fast. It's like, who? Who can we who can we hand this job to?

Steve Kuclo [00:21:10] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:21:11] We'll get it done. Who will actually get stuff done? And that's why you got to go. And you go show people like, I know what I'm doing here. And so, like, when people come in, it's like, Hey, I need a guy who runs Ops really well for a job.

Steve Kuclo [00:21:21] Sure,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:21:21] I got a guy. Oh my God. Thank you. You want you can trust these guys. It's like, got to use your guy to run this thing. And that's how it's always been. It's the thing of who can I trust to help me get where I'm going to go?

Steve Kuclo [00:21:34] Correct

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:21:34] And the best finance guy in the world might not be a good structure guy.

Steve Kuclo [00:21:38] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:21:38] We see it all the time. We take we structured deals for athletes and stuff all the time. And a lot of those guys do like other finance guys must hate you to make. Or their financiers love us because their finance guy like he's playing on where to put money and so like that. And, and these athletes are like,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:21:52] Hey, I got this weird deal from Ted about this gym or this barbershop or this whatever. And the finance guys don't know how to read those. They don't know how to do business structure and and startup stuff. And so we do that for and I met Jason, my business partner, six years ago on a deal that was the same type of idea.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:22:09] And it's like, okay, Jason knows more than I do about this. And so whenever deals come in, I and Jason, Jason sent me a stupid amount of stuff. It's always funny because we were like,. Yeah, you know so much about business, It's so much about deal structure. I'm like, Dude, I.

Steve Kuclo [00:22:23] Don't go to school for it. It's been like.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:22:25] Jason Yeah, I listen to what he says to people for five years. That's how I learned was absolutely right.

Steve Kuclo [00:22:30] Because he's walking proof that he he knows, he knows this shit. And I think to many, I don't like to lean on my own understanding. I mean, I have a lot of knowledge and but I want to be around somebody. Like I said, that's smarter than me, that does have launched more successful businesses than I have.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:22:46] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:22:46] And how you get around those people is getting in rooms like in masterminds.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:22:50] Well, it's funny because we just got I just got a deal from this other guy and I see this all the time. Like the reason I get Brady, I brought in a lot of these deals early on was because of the medicals. Like I know how to structure a medical deal and all these gems and all these things where I throw a chiro or a P.T. or somebody in the gym and I'm like, Look, they're structured.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:23:08] I'm like, You're going to go to jail for this reason, for this reason, for this reason. And they're like, Wait, what am I like, Well, you can't pay them on commission. That's the first thing. And they're like, Wait, hold on. What am I get? You can't pay these guys like commissions, these smiling like there's a way to do it legally.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:23:21] But this is not how it's structured. You're it. And it's like we're like, Oh, man, I didn't I didn't know that. Like, we were talking earlier. We've got guys who are taking board seats and they don't know that if the board that the chairman does something shady.

Steve Kuclo [00:23:34] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:23:34] You go to jail, too, right? Because you're on the board and people don't know that. But it's you know, if this one guy is offering 20%, you're like, you don't pay exactly 20%. Everyone on the board goes to jail because you wrote it down.

Steve Kuclo [00:23:47] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:23:47] So it's it's little things like that, you know, that I wouldn't know if I had not gone to these these guys and learn from Bill who know a hell of a lot more about that particular thing,. Right?

Steve Kuclo [00:23:57]  absolutely.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:23:58] It's always it's always more that you bring value.

Steve Kuclo [00:24:00] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:24:00] If you're if you're a phenomenal roofer or if you're a phenomenal phenomenal plumber or AC or what, pick your profession and you know, because I hate that shit all the time. And so finding a guy that I can trust is like, okay, I know that if I just call you, like, go fix this roof. Just tell me whatever the number is going to be. I don't have to worry about it. I don't get quotes. I just trust you.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:24:19] You send me a number, I'm going to pay it. Reporting it fixed. I don't think about it from this point forward.

Steve Kuclo [00:24:23] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:24:24] Like that is super valuable. And it's always funny because we were like, We could be wrong. I'm like, That's fine. He can be wrong. And I'm cool that he's not going to lie to me,.

Steve Kuclo [00:24:33] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:24:34] He's like, It's not going to be a $6,000 job. He's going to say it's ten. He might say it's ten, and it was an 11 and he was wrong. And he's like, Hey, man, I messed up on the numbers. I'm like, What's the what's the difference?

Steve Kuclo [00:24:43] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:24:43] I'll just write you another check. Yeah, because I can trust you. I know I can handle this often. That's that's the most important thing. Then you get that from when you get the higher you go, the faster you move, the more critical it is that you have the guys you can hand off to. And that's where I don't think I would work with anybody I've not met in one of these groups.

Steve Kuclo [00:24:59] That's true. I mean, we met at a mastermind. I mean, you see the things that we've done, you've helped me numerous times when I mean, just on a medical side then, I mean, I was I could tell a little story real quick about Doctor Matt. I was, I think, two weeks out of a mr. Olympia.

Steve Kuclo [00:25:12] My trainer came in. She's actually going to do a little panel at the mastermind with my wife and I. And she's known to like really push you to the limits, like take you to the wall and like, we're either going to climb it or you're going to just say, no, I'm not.

Steve Kuclo [00:25:24] So I've always been the one that like, All right, let's go there and we're going to climb it. And she put me through like a super hard back workout, super heavy like Rack did was just doing all this stuff. And after the workout I like, I don't know if I'm able to walk out of here in my back, like locked up. And I called Dr. Matt and boom, he's like, Come here. I got decompression. We did everything. Within a couple of days I was back 100%.

Steve Kuclo [00:25:44] But that was from the alignment of getting in one of those rooms and and connecting with you and knowing like, man, this guy knows this stuff. He's a great doctor. So that's why I've developed kind of an approved affiliate program that I have with my with the mastermind that if you're a part of my group and into my tribe, you have access to all my all my people that I've met through these years.

Steve Kuclo [00:26:06] And that if you need a doctor, if you need a car dealer, if you need a lawyer, if you need a business finance guy, like boom, we have people I have all these people like on speed dial and I have personal relationship with that. I can say, Yeah, I got somebody that I trust and this is who I feel like you would have success.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:26:20] But what is so funny is, you know, people are like, Well, what are those guys pay to be on your list is like, No, that's not how this works. Like, here's the thing, people would understand. If you have a guy that can solve Sammy's problem, guess who gets called next time? Sorry is a problem.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:26:32] You get called and guess what? Hey, we're doing this deal. Oh, tell me about the deal. You tell it. Yeah. Oh, I got a guy. How do you know? Like, if you can fix this problem, I'll give you two. I'll give you 2% equity squared is just forgive me a name that works.

Steve Kuclo [00:26:45] Yeah. Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:26:45] Deal. And so I was sort of like, well, what do I need to be like? Because I've got like, my pillars of wellness has the doctors that I work with, like, what do I need to make, give awesome service and be great at what you do?

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:26:55] Because if I find somebody who if you find out that you're giving crap service or you're doing stuff, you don't know what you're doing, I'm never going to anybody you got through. I don't need money. I need to. I need to be able to trust you. I need which is more valuable to me than any amount of money I've ever had. It's I need to be able. Would I send somebody to you? They're going to do the shit that you want to do,.

Steve Kuclo [00:27:13] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:27:14] You make this. Make the problem go away. That's what I need from you. That's all I'm asking. Because the more people I have that can make problems go away, the more valuable I am to my friends. When I go to these meetings, we sit, we talk, people complain about their business, and I'm like, I got a guy who can do that.

Steve Kuclo [00:27:29] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:27:29] They really like, Yeah, like, what's his name? I tell him like, Oh, okay, great. Now like, I'll look you guys up and it's that's, that's always been the thing. So just, you know, the guys on my list get, get knocked off like they can't pay you cannot pay me enough to be on my list because you're like, I'll give you 100 grand. To be honest. No, because I know you're the guy who like to, like, bribe people. Like, No, no, we're going to play this guy now. Like, you got to prove to me that you're good at what you do.

Steve Kuclo [00:27:52] Correct.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:27:52] It's like we were talking about surgeons earlier, and I am super picky with my surgeons and myself and all my stuff. And like, one of my one of the people ask me, like, who do you recommend for this this shoulder surgery? And I was like, I want you to talk to me. Not like all right. It was like, How much do you trust him? I'm like, He's the only person I called My son broke his arm, and I needed I knew he needed surgery.

Steve Kuclo [00:28:12] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:28:12] And they're like, Oh, cool. And my thing is that if I wouldn't give you my family, I won't give you my friend.

Steve Kuclo [00:28:18] No.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:28:18] Like, I'm not I'm not gonna tell anybody unless I would send my family to you.

Steve Kuclo [00:28:22] Sure.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:28:23] So that's always been my thing. And like, we met all these guys here, so, yeah, you're one of those people who don't do masterminds find one.

Steve Kuclo [00:28:32] Absolutely.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:28:32] . And the thing is that there's shitty mastermind, just like there's everything else, right? But you're going to start finding some guys, you know, start drifting around and kind of go into different places. But typically in this, you know, your find your price point, but typically the more there's a range with the more expensive you get, you got to cut out who doesn't have this much money to go to this that.

Steve Kuclo [00:28:52] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:28:52] Because there is a price point where it's like, okay, if it's $5, everybody in the world can get it. That's not that's not right. It's sacrificing a whole lot.

Steve Kuclo [00:29:00] No.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:29:01] So it is kind of a okay.

Steve Kuclo [00:29:03] I mean, you see that like you will go to the gyms that are like the five or $10 a month gyms, and then you have the gyms that are a little more elite.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:29:09] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:29:09] And you see the there's a difference just the way in the people look like phrenology. If not saying I mean, everybody is a starting point. I'm not knocking anybody. But if you go to a gym that has more high level people at, you're going to notice like those people got personal trainers. They're they're consistent. They're there all the time.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:29:25] Yeah.

Steve Kuclo [00:29:25] You know, they're not the person you see once a week or once a month. And but you just see, I want to be around those people.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:29:32] Well, and that goes all the way back to that whole, you know, And it's so I feel it's true at this point. We're going I'm saying something to be like but the whole like, you know, if you hang out with five rich people, you'll be the sixth.

Steve Kuclo [00:29:42] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:29:42] Everything.

Steve Kuclo [00:29:42] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:29:43] Like if you go to a gym where pizza is part of the reason you go to the.

Steve Kuclo [00:29:47] Gym, free food or.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:29:49] Something, you're probably not going to be in the same shape as the guys who wear their chalk all over the floor.

Steve Kuclo [00:29:54] Y.eah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:29:54] I mean,.

Steve Kuclo [00:29:55] Yeah, yeah,. Yeah, yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:29:56] Yeah. I, you know, I always it, it's gonna be a good gym and I walk and there's chalk all over the place.

Steve Kuclo [00:30:00] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:30:00] I'm like, All right.

Steve Kuclo [00:30:01] Okay.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:30:01] Smart people. Yeah, it looks like there's a heater. There's no AC. Someplace.

Steve Kuclo [00:30:05] Okay, this is good.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:30:07] So. But now it's in. That's just. The thing is, you know what type of person you want to be? Go hang out. Those got?

Steve Kuclo [00:30:12] Yeah,. 100%.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:30:13] So I'm excited about this one. I'm excited about some of the stuff. I always, always love working with with athletes and people. Who are you better probably where

Steve Kuclo [00:30:23] You'll be we're going to be doing some of the strip stuff you're doing. Yeah. Yeah. Exciting.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:30:27] Yeah, I know. The strip stuff's really cool. That's I've it was funny because it was again, it was a deal we were doing. The way I got into cannabis was we had one of our, a couple over pro athletes were like, I want to invest in cannabis. And they were like it because it's medical. And I was like, Great, thanks.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:30:44] Because now that it's medical, it's now something I have to deal with or part of the group. And so I started doing all the research, and it's so funny because like the stigmatism people have given addicts is now to the point where I'm like, I don't I don't believe in your addict speech anymore.

Steve Kuclo [00:31:01] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:31:01] Because like, they would come in and maybe, like, the pain's gone, my anxiety is gone. I'm just more chill. I just life is just better. And I'm like, You sound like an addict. And then I went for cannabis. And I when I started in the research and I'm like, Oh my God, like, we have massive amounts of research that shows like 64% of the time we can replace opioids with cannabis and not have you hurt anymore.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:31:22] So the exact amount of pain go away. With opioids, you get the same amount with cannabis, right? And people don't know that, like the anxiety, the depression, the things like that, that this a this list, because it suppresses the amygdala function in the brain is ridiculous. And as I started learning this, I was just like, Oh my God. Like, you guys weren't lying. Like, oh, you guys like again, like, you know, 99% of people who do this thing all say the same thing.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:31:47] They're all just lying addicts. Maybe we should look in the gray area. Everybody says this thing did that. Maybe we should be like, we should investigate that, because apparently that's what it does. But, you know, and so that was really cool. And so we got together, we put it on a strip, and it's the stuff we got here is legal for Texas. It's not a but that's all I gave my son after.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:32:08] So after that surgery, I talked. They hit a plate and six screws ripped out his arm. And it's funny cause I have the pictures and there's big holes in his arm or the screws came out like, you know, like there's a like, not a dent.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:32:18] Like, there's a hole all the way through the bone that you can see through here. All six screws were and they had to cut out a big punched piece of scarring to start. Anyway, all he had when he came in the hospital were those cannabis strips and I was able to dose them out, never got high, just never had pain.

Steve Kuclo [00:32:33] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:32:33] And you know, mood wise was fantastic. And yeah, so we avoided because they gave him opioids as of right after the surgery, but he didn't take them because it's really hard to do much of research on opioids.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:32:43] It's addictive and deadly and horrible. They are and then be like, Here you go, kid.

Steve Kuclo [00:32:47] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:32:47] Take the opioids. I was like, No, no, but no, it's been spectacular. We've had a lot of people coming in. We have a couple of teenagers. We're like, parents are going through divorce, are going through a rough time. And their therapist actually came to me and were like, We try this. And so we've been using it with them and phenomenal results.

Steve Kuclo [00:33:05] That's awesome.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:33:06] Yeah. Getting these kids off these these these psychoactive drugs, it's like.

Steve Kuclo [00:33:09] Right. Which like the side effect the most from suicide. I'm taking a segment, but the side effect, the suicide like.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:33:15] Well.

Steve Kuclo [00:33:16] It's crazy.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:33:17] I was I was going to some research with a therapist buddy of mine and she she almost killed herself, which is only psych drugs.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:33:24] And we're going over the research. It's like now it's kind of weird. I'm like, are these people committing suicide because the drugs weren't working? Or are they committing suicide because the drugs were working? They're just not doing what we think they're supposed to be like.

Steve Kuclo [00:33:36] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:33:37] I Gave this drug to this person because we thought they were suicidal and then yet they killed themselves. You're like, all right, let's fair. The drug just didn't do all the positive. But then you give it to people and they're like, I was not suicidal. I got on these different drugs and then I tried to commit suicide. I got off the drugs. My life was rough. I wasn't suicidal anymore.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:33:52] So you see that a a lot. And at least somebody put enough that we should I think we should want a little bit better look at these drugs like we finally like we've known for a long time. The SSRI did nothing.

Steve Kuclo [00:34:03] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:34:04] To help. And they finally came out and admitted it after like ten or 15 years after the research came out that said that these things were not beneficial at all.

Steve Kuclo [00:34:11] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:34:11] Which is really making me mad because it's like, look, if we if we view that we have a serotonin decrease in the brain and we know that all the serotonin is made in your gut, why are we not doing things to fix the gut? Like that's because every time that we repair the gut and fix all that people like me, I just feel so much better. Oh, my anxiety is gone.

Steve Kuclo [00:34:26] Is that right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:34:27] You're like, Well, I mean, is it the guy? Like we fix her testosterone, we got some exercise and you get all these different things and they're like, All of my mental stuff's gone. Well, all right. Was it? Which one of the four things that we do was the made it? Was it all for? I guess it doesn't matter because you need the test for 15 other things. You need the exercise for 15 other things you need the gut fix for again, if you like all the things your body does.

Steve Kuclo [00:34:50] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:34:50] We just put it back together and it works. So, you know, it's that type of a thing that's really, really fun. But that the cannabis thing is super, super interesting. And we already know that we can suppress epilepsy with it. We know we can suppress the Parkinson's function, anxiety, depression impact.

Steve Kuclo [00:35:06] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:35:07] And so those are the those are the things that we're going to do. And if you guys. Game eight strips dot com. So if you guys are having these issues and you're like I want to try something. Game eight strips dot com is really the best place to go for those strips.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:35:21] The issue we going into with vaping so that's a big to flower bay for the two big things we were getting in now flower is. So smoking joints or flower. So for people who don't know it's a smoking flower I will tell you is substantially better for you than vaping. I don't think people are going to argue with, but you're still smoke. You're still second smoke in your lunch.

Steve Kuclo [00:35:41] Sure.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:35:42] So that's why I like the strips and I like some of the animals, a lot of animals of of trash and sugar and stuff.

Steve Kuclo [00:35:47] Yeah,.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:35:48] That's the other thing I like about the strips is that like I don't consume sugar ever. And so our strips have no sugar. And so you can sort of explore all that sort of stuff. You're not.

Steve Kuclo [00:35:58] That's awesome.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:35:59] You're getting those hidden sugars. And right now I will say that some of the some of the stuff, some people are fine with it like I take them in I fast still 22 hours but some people sell you a little bunches on it. So do I. Got to be careful to keep track of that.

Steve Kuclo [00:36:13] Yeah, right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:36:14] But, you know, they're still pretty spectacular stuff. But that's just, you know, the thing is, like in right now, like there's there's great research into ketamine, there's great research into psilocybin, There's great research in these.

Steve Kuclo [00:36:24] I'm glad that there's they're starting to people are be more receptive or receptive to studying it to, you know, be. Like maybe. It's not that bad. And it's more natural than taking some synthetic drug that might have all these different side effects. So it's good. Good to.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:36:41] See. Yeah, I know. It's good to see that we're finally get that stuff done. So. Well, I get here about an hour, so we'll knock it off. But the guys go to that, go to the upgrade human thing. Go to some of the other mastermind sites. Start. Start.

Steve Kuclo [00:36:52] Absolutely.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:36:53] Finding a staff, finding a group of guys. This is why I like the stuff like you're doing where it's repetitive. It's not just a one time event,.

Steve Kuclo [00:36:59] Right.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:36:59] It's we're going to do this thing where we show you what this is and we're bringing you back so that you guys can be together again and start developing these relationships. Because going to a one time event is nice, but it's like, I don't know if everybody went to church camp when they were kids, but you go to church camp and you're super on fire for God for like four days.

Steve Kuclo [00:37:16] Yeah.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:37:16] And then it starts right back to where you were. So like, that type of thing. Like now you're like, okay, we're going to.

Steve Kuclo [00:37:20] Be we just got to you got to keep exercising that you got to keep. It's just.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:37:24] Like. Consistency,.

Steve Kuclo [00:37:25] Consistency with it, whether it's in the gym or whether it's in business. A relationship like consistency is one of the biggest things to be successful. I like to consider myself very consistent person, like the same person I am who you like my.

Steve Kuclo [00:37:38] I wake up to my wife every day like I want to be that person. I want to be the best I can be for her. So when I wake up, like she's like, you're always smiling, always happy. I'm like,. Yeah, I got breath in my lungs. It's one thing to be really happy about a two year next to me, so I am the happiest bastard on this earth. Yeah, but just being consistent with it and you're going to see results.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:37:56] Yeah, well, yeah, that's me thing. So we'll see you guys at the mastermind. I'll see you guys later. But then any of the pillars of wellness like dot com charmers, wellness, sitcom,. You guys want to do that type of stuff, but that's the big thing.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:38:08] So get, get the get the information. I don't care where you get you got it done by everybody and that's fine. Just get the information because you're going to do a whole lot more harm to yourself without the education than your.

Steve Kuclo [00:38:18] Absolutely, absolutely.
