The mental pillar is about how you think the spiritual pillar is how the way you think effects the world around you. This pillar is also called the legacy pillar as it is often how we will be remembered. This pillar includes everything from community service, to your relationships, the way you determine your core beliefs, your purpose, and the difference between the person you are and the person you want to be.
Understanding that time is limited can often help focus you on the important things. The idea that you only have so many summers with your children. Your parents will not always be here. Your body will only be able to do certain things for so many years. It's important that we make the most of our years and understand that regret is one of the worst feelings when you are aging.
What have you done with your life, have you written your own obituary? Are you satisfied with that story so far? How many things have you done halfway that you'll regret not completing when you're older. Focus on the things that make life really matter, relationships, memories, travel.

This is where you start to look at your life and look for the meaning. Have you written your personal or family core values? Do you have solid anchors of truth that you tie your decision-making process to, and have you written them down? Lots of these things we have all “kinda” done but we have not really set aside the time to actually do them. When we start “putting it on paper” we find that we have things we have not thought of. We find gaps or holes in our core state. This is normal for something we have not really looked into yet, however, its important to do these exercises so you at least know where you are coming from personally.

This is similar to writing a real will. There is so much important stuff you didn't know you needed to do in order to properly plan for the end of one's life. Insurance, legally putting down where everything goes and why, even planning your own funeral and setting aside funds so no one else has to. There is a lot to it, and we are normally not aware of it all until we have to do it. This is just putting some of those things we should do and we kinda have into action.
