Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:00:04] All right. So we're live. I got a couple questions. The number one, the one I want to cover is, somebody asked me how the journey was going. It's it's very interesting. I got to tell you that, I don't know, it'd be very, very difficult. Very different story. If everything in my life hadn't work the same way. You know, I start trading lines and we start getting phenomenal results. In fact, I have not had a single patient who has gone through my entire lives for the call who told me about. And I was told that I'm treating it wrong. If I don't use antibiotics, then, you know, patients are going to have all sorts of issues, even though the guys who've done the antibiotics didn't give up. Like when you use antibiotics on lyme's, the results are very, very, because of the biofilms. And it's like people don't read the research. It's like people don't understand the physiological systems. But I'm told that I'm doing it wrong every time and that I'm hurting people and that I'm just doing it for money.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:01:07] And 100% of the people I've treated for lives has gotten they've gotten through the whole process of gotten substantially better. Something within us. We've had phenomenal results within us. A lot of times, competitors complete resolution. They have no more symptoms. Like people who are having vision issues, who when they stand up, they get wobbly and they fall over, getting completely. All those things go right. So, having told them doing it wrong when we're treating Covid, and 100 of the people I worked on that we pulled out of hospitals, people whose pulse ox is, we know, high 70s, low 80s who had no idea where they were. I had to help carry them into the office. 100 of them got there in a couple of days. Still, I was being told I was I was doing it wrong. And that what I was doing wasn't helping, wasn't going to work. When we treat families with chronic fatigue, and we've had phenomenal success with that. So everyone says, well, you're not doing it the same way everybody else does it. So you must be doing it wrong, even though everybody else is getting trashy, horrible results.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:02:08] They deal with the calories in, calories out. People are very angry that I'm pushing back against the normal mainstream, idea on how the body works, even though, as I pointed out, it's very, very obvious that calories in, calories out is a trash system. Because in calories in, calories out, you have to view proteins and carbohydrates identically the way they work in the body, and they don't work the same way. And people still go, well, yeah, but calories. So the fun thing is, is that what I'm doing is working very, very well. I feel fantastic. I have no loss of energy. I have no loss of sex drive. I have no loss of mental function. I'm not angry. I'm not tired. I'm not any of those things. And yet everyone keeps telling me, well, if you really want to do this, you're gonna have to go into the normal that. And I keep going. Why? Because that's the way you do it. And I'm like, well, that's that doesn't. That's not necessarily true. Why would I decided I wanted to be miserable? Why would I decide I won't be fatigued and angry and yell at my my friends and my wife, my patients. You know, just be super mad all the time and exhausted. This one works better.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:03:17] I have the chemistry, I have the research. And still people are like, yeah, what you're doing isn't going to work. Look at me. It's working phenomenally. There's a lot of that. People who told me, like, you know, I'm like, well, I don't want to use a whole lot, a whole lot more testosterone I'm using. I don't want to use, you know, some of the harder, you know, the wind and that and the EQ, and I won't do trend because of the tech party issues. Like, what are you going to EQ and promote? I'm going to try not to, like that's not part of my plan. And everyone's like, well, you're not going to get there. And, you know, if you haven't to like, oh, you can't be physique. You're, you know, you're built wrong. And you were like, you should be doing bodybuilding or you shouldn't be doing bodybuilding. So everybody has everyone has an opinion and it's different than mine. But I'm used to that. I my entire professional career, my entire life, it's been. You don't do things the way everybody else does. So you must be wrong.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:04:16] Even though the things I do are working better, faster and actually getting results. So it's it's kind of par for the course. But you know, you see that a lot. You see people saying, you know, let me stand over here and tell you what you're doing is wrong, even though what you're doing is working. So, you know, I don't think I don't think I've noticed it as much as I do now. But then again, I haven't had to compete. I haven't had to discuss things with people who treat lyme's at all or treat, you know, far miles of chronic fatigue. Ms.. You know, things like that. You know, so I guess it's just one of those things that more people are in this in this, if you want to call it a field. And so more people are telling me that everything I'm doing is wrong. So, that's probably going to be the biggest thing. And I'm used to it and I don't care, you know, because I can sit there and be like, I have the research. What you're telling me to do with the calories thing is absurd.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:05:11] And here's the other side. You keep telling me, oh, when you do your cut, you're going to lose lots of muscle. I don't wanna lose lots of muscle. That sounds horrible. That's a that's an obvious gluconeogenesis problem from an amino acid standpoint. So from a chemical point, I understand why you're losing muscle. I'm just saying I'm not going to do that. And then, oh, you're gonna be angry and tired and grumpy. Those are blood sugar issues. Very obvious if you understand physiology. Well, if you take the blood sugar equation out, you don't have blood sugar issues to deal with because you're not running on a glucose that day. All of a sudden, all those problems go away. And yet I should conform to what anybody else is doing. Even though that path is very difficult, miserable, and fraught with health risks. Now I'm gonna do my thing. But I will tell you that there's there's a lot of really cool stuff on the journey. The mental piece is really fun. It's.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:06:07] Well, okay, I use fun a little bit different than other people, too. It's a constant. I don't know if it's working. And I got to take my shirt off. Look at myself. You know, every day, one of the reasons I do the check ins is that I can look back and be like, nope, I am leaner today than I was five days ago. I'm leaner today and I was ten days ago. So that's been beneficial to me. And one of the other reasons is that I'm doing this as proof. So whenever we get to a certain point and people start watching this stuff and they can go back and watch the whole thing, and, you know, that's how I feel. That's that's why because I'm trying to show that this system works. And it works really well. But there are days where it's, you know, the fat content is too high or too low, or I start worrying about metabolic advantage, which. I'll get the metabolic advantage sooner or later. But because I actually got a question about it. So obviously someone who understands chemistry.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:07:06] That, what metabolic advantages is the idea that a fat is not a fat? So, for instance, the research on nuts, for example, almonds, if you eat the almond, you get these numbers. Would be wrong to read the research yesterday. You get like 20%, 27% absorption of the fat if you eat the almond, if you roast the almond, the fat absorption goes to 33%. If you blend the almond up to almond flour is like 40%. If you drink the almond oil or like peanut oil, it's going to go up to like 45 or 50% absorption of the of the facts because it's easier for the body to absorb fat once again, the further down the chain that they've been processed or broken down. So yeah, when you add fiber to things, it radically decreases the absorption function. So that like the pizza stuff I was eating had a ton of fiber with it. So the fat content was, you know, was, altered or decreased from that. So that's metabolic advantage. We're not going to talk a lot about that because there's a lot of chemistry in that, and there's a lot of, you know, if that in this type of thing. And so I'm just going to try to focus on the difference between calories in, calories out versus actual physiological, physiological biochemistry.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:08:23] We can get an advantage once a very understands that fats, carbohydrates and proteins or specifically carbohydrates and proteins are not the same thing and they don't work the same way in the body. And we can start ditching the calories in, calories out. Once we start getting that hurdle done, then I'll start explaining how, metabolic advantage works. But that's another piece that I'm, I'm toying with my head. I'm playing with. And, you know, I want to eat pizza every time I eat because I love the pizza. However, people have been asking, you know, what else is on the diet? And so. All right, if I'm doing this to help other people, I'm going to run through and eat different things. So, you know, that's the other thing. Journey has been great, though, I love. Literally waking up every other day and looking at myself and being like, yep, diet's working. Everything's working. And then coming to work and working all day and helping people do stuff and, you know, not feeling angry, not feeling tired, not feeling. You know, miserable. I feel fantastic. You know, it's really simple.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:09:26] You break down the biochemistry as to how this works, and it's shocking to me that other people are doing it. But there's a normality thing where everybody needs to do the same thing everybody else does, because that's just the way you do it. And for some reason, everyone keeps up with that and they're like, well, I'm going to do this because this is the way it works. And I'm not saying it doesn't work. I'm just saying maybe there's a better way. You know, if you rode your bicycle to work every day, you would get there and that would work. I'm not saying riding a bicycle to work wouldn't get you there. I'm just saying, you know, if it's raining and cold outside, it'd be faster and more comfortable in a car. But if you want to ride your bike, ride your bike. I'm not saying it doesn't work.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:10:08] I'm just saying that maybe there's a better way. It just feels like I'm in a car and everyone on bicycles is looking at me going. You're doing it wrong. You should be on the bicycle in a freezing rain with the rest of us. No, you'd be miserable. I'm going to be happy. I'm going to be healthy. So that's that's really I think the most interesting part of the journey is people are watching this work, and people come in and they'll talk about, you look different than you did a week ago. And then they're like, you should get on the normal diet. Everybody else does. Why? Well, you know, the whole like, you know, don't tell somebody it can't be done while you watch them do it. Like, I've never seen that quote more epitomized in what I'm doing than any other thing I've done than this, this journey. So, this diet works really, really well. You know you again. I do everything to everyone. So I don't think you should fast without taking supplementation because your body gets all the nutrients. And now on the ATP train, it gets from. Good morning. Liz.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:11:10] All of the, ATP duration needs for your fat, but it still requires all those coenzyme Q10, methylated B vitamins, the omega three fatty acids, the. Yep. All the all the amino acids. So you still require all those things and fasting for, you know, eight, ten, 12, 24 hours without using some type of collagen. And it's allowing your body to destroy and rip apart your muscle tissue. I think it's a terrible plan. But again, everybody can run the however they want. So, that's kind of been the biggest thing on the journey and I'm already way long. So, but that's that's kind of where we're at. So if you guys have questions, hit us up. Questions at Thomas Volcom.
