Sports Injury Chiropractic
Sports injuries happen and more than not the injuries that occur are not severe the first time that they happen. The knee and the ankle are both quite stable when the brain can communicate with the muscles that support the knee and the ankle. When the hip and pelvis, as well as the spine, are kept in alignment and free from subluxation then the severe injuries that either end or diminish an athlete’s carrier can be avoided. For this reason, it is very important that when the back or the hip is sore you get that problem checked immediately. Furthermore if you are involved in a sport that has a lot of impact such as running or jumping it would be a good idea to get checked and adjusted more frequently, on that note if you are in a sport like football which is best defined as a collision sport it is very important that you get regular perhaps weekly if not by weekly adjustments to ensure your joints and spine are in the proper position and everything is stable.
Treating Sports Injuries
However, when it comes down to it, there are many injuries that do not require surgery that are being shipped to surgeons. If you get surgery on anything, whether it is a joint or not, that area is going to be weaker and have a greater tendency to become injured again and again to avoid surgery at all costs. The other issue is that many problems can only be fixed by chiropractic. This is best demonstrated by my own experience. I hurt my back in high school and could no longer stand or walk without extreme pain so my parents carried me everywhere. After visiting the top back specialist, orthopedic, orthopedic spine specialist, and neurosurgeons I was told that there was nothing wrong with me however they could do exploratory surgery and “see what they could see.” I declined and called my coach to say I cannot play anymore, I cannot walk. He instructed me to go see the team chiropractor, which I did. After reviewing the X-Rays and working with me for a couple of minutes, I was adjusted and went back to practice 3 days later. I had continuing care for the rest of the season but I started and felt good the entire rest of the season all the way to the state championship which we won.
