Why do I need a Chiropractor?

WHY DO I NEED A CHIROPRACTOR?
I am often asked “why do I need a chiropractor?” Even with the amount of chiropractors in Frisco and Plano and the surrounding areas we have failed to get the information out. A Chiropractor’s job is to ensure proper motion in the spine. When there is proper motion in the spine the muscles can move freely and there is no pain. However, more importantly than not having any pain is the fact that the nerves that come off the spinal cord and exit the spine and go between the muscles are not being pinched in any way. Any pressure on a nerve will start to decrease its ability to function. Decreasing a nerves function might not hurt, however, it will decrease the function of whatever that nerve goes to. If that nerve goes to your heart your heart will not work right. If that nerve goes to your gut then you might get constipation, diarrhea, gas, as well as a number of other issues. If the nerves from the low back are compressed then you can have issues with bowel, bladder, sexual dysfunction, and even weakness in walking. All of these things can be helped by seeing a chiropractor. All functions of the human body can be helped by chiropractic. It will probably not be the only thing that you will need to achieve total health, however in most cases total health cannot be achieved without it.
CHIROPRACTIC MAINTENANCE

CHIROPRACTIC MAINTENANCE
Chiropractic maintenance is often overlooked until it is too late. Very often I see a person that wants to go on vacation or needing to go on an important business trip however they woke up and just couldn’t move. If they had just been more regular with their chiropractic maintenance then everything would have been fine. Maintenance includes stretches exercises and get adjusted properly. When done properly all three add up to reduce the need of the others. Thus a little exercise with some light stretching and getting adjusted a couple of times a month leaves you feeling great and keeping you from waking up in terrible pain. This will also keep your body functioning better and keep you from getting sick as often as your lymphatic system, your bodies sewer system, with be much cleaner. However if you start to alter the balance then it is highly possible that you will require a more intense plan. It is far cheaper and much easier to keep the body in tune than to let it fall apart and have to start over again every 3-5 months. 5 min of exercise with 5 min of stretching per day and 2-3 adjustments a month will keep the majority of the population fully functioning and feeling great for a very long time. So remember to get regular adjustments, and do your exercises and stretches. If you don’t you will have to get adjusted more times per year and your body will not feel or work as well.
The TV interview with Janet St. James

I was fortunate enough to have been interviewed today by Janet St. James of Channel 8 news so I wanted to talk about some of the things that we talked about while she was here. I know that unfortunately she is going to have to squeeze over 2 hours of interviewing into 2 minutes of TV time so I wanted to make sure that I was able to get a couple of things that might not have time to make it on get on.
First I am a VERY big fan of antibiotics. They are the reason that we don’t have to amputate limbs due to gangrene any more. They have saved countless numbers of lives and will continue to do so as time goes forward. They are the reason that surgeries have become increasingly safer. For these reasons and many many more I am a big fan of antibiotics. The problem is that I feel that they are over used and people feel that they cannot listen to their doctor when he says you don’t need anything or that they can take them however they want to without anything bad happening to them. This is where the problem lies not in the proper use as prescribed by your doctor but by people altering or adding to what their doctor has told them.
This can lead to fungal over growths as well as decreasing immune function and nutrient absorption into the body. When this happens that is when I normally see people after nothing else has helped when they are feeling like no one can help them they seek an alternative and I am normally that alternative.
On a final, note Janet and her crew were great and I look forward to working with them again.
